Tina Thorstenson, ASU’s Assistant Vice President, and Chief Information Security Officer in the University Technology Office, will offer unique insights into protecting large systems.
Thorstenson’s current areas of responsibility include the Information Security Office and Identity Management. She has spent the majority of her career implementing and enhancing enterprise administrative systems and IT infrastructure in higher education. While at ASU, her areas of responsibility have included network operations, network design, systems administration, enterprise application development & support, data center operations, and the Information Security Office.
ASU is continually raising the bar for people, technology and process. Tina will link that evolution to the university’s approach to cyber security defense.
Michelè Stuart, Licensed Private Investigator, operates JAG Investigations. She is a nationally recognized expert on the security of the Internet. She is returning again this year to provide an update on the various threats that surround access to and use of the Internet. The Internet is a powerful source of information and knowledge, but it is also a milieu in which privacy is virtually non-existent.
There are things to watch out for and steps to take to minimize the chances that personal information that you have placed on the Internet will get into the wrong hands. Ms. Stuart will highlight some of the areas to avoid. Ms. Stuart is a licensed Private Investigator in the State of Arizona with twenty years of experience specializing in the areas of Financial, Open Source Investigations (OSINT), Corporate Investigations, and Intelligence/Counter Intelligence.
She started her investigative career as an Economic Fraud Investigator. Ms. Stuart is an Adjunct Professor with University of Virginia and an Instructor at Quantico for multi country training programs. Over the past years she has provided presentations, and private training, to both Federal and State levels of Law Enforcement Agencies and Military Intelligence throughout the United States including attendees of Department of Homeland Security, US Marshals, FBI, DOJ, Border Patrol, Indian Tribal Nations and local law enforcement agencies throughout the country.Read More
